My approach relies on an exploration of three ‘structural’ elements: sky, solid ground and the horizon which are constant components of landscape. I perceive planting as connective tissue which thread these elements together.
The diversity found in planting structure, form, texture, pattern, colour, light, reflection, sound and movement are all elements which can elevate us into a sentient world and a closer interaction with landscape whether urban or rural. Our awareness can be enhanced to promote an immediate sensory experience which is vital for sustaining mental and physical well-being.
I use this approach to facilitate and evolve a client’s vision, with careful interpretation, exchange and collaboration.
